August wine tasting - ‘Spain’
The Spanish are now officially the football masters of the globe and deservedly so! They are also grand masters in wine, producing some of the finest wines in the world from renowned regions like Rioja and Ribera del Douro. However it's a well-known fact that Spain also has the most land under vine on the globe. This means outside of those two relatively sized famous regions there are a lot of other areas producing wine, which we may not be so familiar with.
Huge investment has been put into area's like La Mancha, Navarra, Aragon & Catalonia and the results have been to produce wonderful wines which combine both modern and traditional techniques at a price that can give the likes of Rioja a run for their money. For your delight this month we have two lovely whites from Rueda. In the reds we have a spicy sweet Garnacha from Aragon and a fruity Tempranillo from Navarra. We have a rosé from La Mancha and as an interesting comparison we have a Garnacha rosé from Rioja.
We are sure that these great wines (in unlimited quantity) will tantalise your taste buds alongside a fantastic three-course dinner menu and all for £29.00 per person!
